February 12, 2009 - Nexera Medical's SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 receives EN 149: 2001 approval as a FFP3 (French Version) respirator mask from INSPEC International Ltd., a European Union certified testing facility located in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom. The tests were performed on the SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 in simulation of the practical use of the apparatus under the conditions prevailing in the area of the laboratory. The testing method is the widely accepted method for measuring filtration performance which is known as the paraffin oil method. The tests resulted in a 99.7% or greater filtration efficiency for the SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3. A standard FFP3 European Union version requires 99% filtration efficiency, while the French version requires 99.7% filtration efficiency.

The antimicrobial aspects are recognized by the test results received from the Health Protection Agency against bacteria on November 8, 2008, and from RetroScreen Virology Ltd. against viruses on January 22, 2009, and this FFP3 approval recognizes the filtration aspects".
