November 6, 2008 - Nexera Medical's SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 Antimicrobial Respirator Mask passes Bacteria Testing for antimicrobial efficacy. Nexera Medical received successful evaluation results for Antimicrobial Activity for SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 Antimicrobial Respirator Mask from the Health Protection Agency, Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response, a certified testing facility in the European Union. The Bacteria tests were performed on MS-2 coliphage, Streptococcus pyogenes, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), Haemophilius Influenza, and Legionella pneumophila. The tests concluded that these bacteria were killed up to 99.99% in a 1 hour period. The tests, conducted over the past 3 months were designed to evaluate the SpectraShield™ Plus FFP3 mask's antimicrobial properties on a number of bacterial microorganisms to demonstrate the efficacy of our technology. Varying inoculation concentrations of 0 to 1,000,000 units were tested within a time span of 0 - 60 minutes. Results indicated that up to 99.99% (or to five log reduction) of the bacterial microorganisms were killed within one hour on some bacterial organisms.
